Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has made a strong statement to reporters, emphasizing that his country cannot engage in negotiations with the US while its citizens face bombardment. He accuses the US of being complicit in the aggression since the conflict began, although he does not provide specific evidence to support this claim.

Speaking from Istanbul, where he is poised to continue diplomatic discussions, Araghchi cautions that US involvement in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran could lead to serious consequences.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump approved plans for potential military action against Iran but decided to hold off on strikes, contingent on Iran’s willingness to abandon its nuclear program.

Araghchi expressed his openness to a negotiated resolution surrounding Iran’s nuclear initiative, referencing the successful deal reached in 2015 with several world powers after prolonged tensions regarding the country’s nuclear ambitions.

He stated, “Diplomacy has proven effective in the past and has the potential to do so again. For diplomacy to resume, the aggression must come to an end.”
